Biocatheter widens spinal canal without surgery

How the bio-catheter helps with a narrowed spinal canal – completely without surgery!

Biocatheter widens spinal canal without surgery

A diagnosis of spinal stenosis is a source of anxiety. When medication no longer helps and doctors are at a loss, they usually recommend surgery. But many patients are hesitant. It's widely known that more than one in three sufferers continue to experience severe symptoms even after the procedure. However, thanks to a particularly gentle therapy using a novel biocatheter, this pain can now be eliminated without surgery. Neurosurgeon Dr. Samer Ismail from the Munich-East Spine Center can thus avoid almost half of all spinal canal surgeries.

One person who benefited from this method is postman Otto B. (53). He was on the verge of applying for early retirement. Severe spinal stenosis was making his life a living hell. Every step sent a sharp pain shooting down his leg. The postman was no longer able to work. Conservative therapies proved ineffective. Two orthopedic surgeons recommended spinal fusion surgery. Finally, one of his mail recipients gave him the saving tip: The Munich-East Spine Center!

Just two weeks later, he was already able to be examined there by Dr. Samer Ismail.
The diagnosis from the doctors who had previously treated him was correct. But instead of surgery, Dr. Ismail suggested the new biocatheter as a treatment. Otto B. didn't have to think twice: "The principle convinced me immediately. And Dr. Ismail has an excellent reputation." The success came quickly. Shortly after the treatment with the biocatheter, the pain had improved significantly. Today, Otto B. can deliver his mail again: "I'm doing wonderfully. I hardly feel anything anymore."„

The multi-catheter is only a few millimeters thin and can rotate 360 degrees. Additional micro-instruments can be inserted via the control unit.

Back specialist Dr. Ismail explains how the therapy works:

„"It is a truly unique combination of the modern multi-video catheter and the bio-syringe with the body's own growth factors. First, under X-ray guidance and local anesthesia, we insert the ultra-thin catheter through a small natural opening at the back of the sacrum into the space surrounding the spinal cord. Using a control unit and under direct visualization through a mini-video camera at the catheter tip, we guide it with millimeter precision to the narrowed spinal canal."“

There, Dr. Ismail performs several therapy steps through the two working channels of the catheter:

    =

The extra-wide tube with its particularly large diameter now makes the examination comfortable even for people with claustrophobia or severe obesity.

    =
He carefully widens the narrow passage with a small inflatable balloon.
    =
Using radio frequency energy and micro-instruments, he loosens and removes the thickened portions of the ligament tissue that press into and narrow the spinal canal.
    =
Finally, he injects the patient's own blood plasma enriched with growth factors into the treated area. He had previously drawn and processed the blood from the patient's vein.

This highly effective concentrate relieves residual pain, prevents inflammation of the nerve roots, and promotes healing. The bio-injection thus enhances and complements the effects of catheter therapy. This allows the irritated tissue in the spinal canal to regenerate optimally and biologically.
