Hand surgery in Haar
When do I need a hand surgeon?
Pain in the hand, fingers, elbow, or wrist can significantly restrict daily life. At WZMO Haar, we now offer the full spectrum of hand surgery – from precise diagnosis and conservative and bioregenerative treatments to outpatient surgery.
Our specialist, Dr. Stephanie Wilscher, holds the additional qualification in hand surgery and has performed over 5,000 hand surgical procedures. She received her training at Germany's most renowned hand surgery clinic in Bad Neustadt – under the pioneer of modern hand surgery, Prof. Ulrich Lanz.
Hand surgery is the medical specialty that deals with diseases, injuries, and malformations of the hand, wrist, fingers, and forearm. It combines orthopedics, trauma surgery, and plastic surgery – and requires specialized additional training that goes beyond the level of a board-certified specialist.
At WZMO Haar, we offer both conservative and surgical treatments. Many conditions can be permanently resolved without surgery – through targeted injections, bioregenerative procedures, or physiotherapy. Where surgery is necessary, we perform it on an outpatient basis using state-of-the-art technology.
We treat the entire spectrum of hand surgical conditions, including:
Carpal tunnel syndrome
Dupuytren's contracture
Rhizarthrosis (thumb saddle joint osteoarthritis)
Tendon injuries and tendonitis
Nerve injuries of the hand
Radius fracture (wrist fracture)
Wrist osteoarthritis
Disc injury (TFCC lesion)
Trigger finger (stenosing tenosynovitis)
Ganglion on the wrist
Conservative before surgical
At WZMO, we place particular emphasis on gentle treatment. Many hand conditions respond very well to conservative therapies – cortisone injections, bioregenerative injections (PRP), acupuncture, or targeted hand therapy. We assess each patient individually to determine the most appropriate approach.
Only when conservative measures have been exhausted or immediate surgery is medically necessary do we recommend a surgical procedure – outpatient, gentle, with a short recovery time.
