Accurate diagnosis – targeted therapy.

A precise diagnosis is the foundation of any effective treatment. Using modern technology and extensive experience, we analyze your symptoms and develop an individualized therapy plan that specifically improves your mobility.

A useful adjunct – but not a substitute for orthopedics.

Manual medicine and acupuncture can be helpful in individual cases – for example, for muscle relaxation or pain relief. We use these methods selectively and responsibly – always as a complement to sound orthopedic therapy.

Acupuncture – targeted stimulation therapy as a complement

Acupuncture can help release muscle tension and alleviate pain – especially in cases of chronic conditions. We use it selectively as a complementary treatment when appropriate. It does not replace orthopedic treatment, but rather complements it in specific areas.

Restore movement – release blockages

Manual therapy uses targeted hand movements to mobilize joints, relax muscles, and relieve pain. It is particularly effective for functional disorders of the spine and joints – and is individually tailored to your symptoms.

Because every joint is part of a larger whole.

Orthopedic problems often arise not only from the affected joint, but also from incorrect posture, muscle imbalances, or lack of exercise. Therefore, we always consider your situation holistically – and complement traditional orthopedics with sensible, proven measures.
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Bucher represents an orthopedic approach that prioritizes preservation over replacement. His focus is on bioregenerative therapies such as PRP, hyaluronic acid, and shockwave therapy. The goal is always the same: to restore your mobility – entirely without surgery.

DR. SEBASTIAN BUCHER

Sebastian Bucher is a dedicated orthopedic and trauma surgeon known for his broad range of services. He treats a variety of conditions, including shoulder-neck syndrome, tennis elbow, and joint pain in the shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle, often caused by injuries or osteoarthritis.

Using modern diagnostic methods, Mr. Bucher makes precise diagnoses and develops individualized, effective treatment plans. His focus is on conservative treatment methods such as shockwave therapy, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, infusion therapy, hyaluronic acid injections, kinesio taping, and chiropractic therapy to promote the body's self-healing abilities.

In addition to classical orthopedics, he relies on acupuncture as part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to support self-healing through targeted stimulation of Qi.

His treatment philosophy is holistic: he treats both the causes and the symptoms and develops tailored plans aimed at long-term well-being. Mr. Bucher encourages his patients to make lifestyle adjustments to promote sustainable health and vitality.

We combine these methods in a targeted manner – depending on the symptoms – for a gentle yet effective treatment using the latest medical technology.

Think holistically – treat individually.

Orthopedic problems have many causes. Therefore, we consider not only the affected joint, but the whole person. Sleep, exercise, nutrition, daily work routine – all of these influence the healing process.

Our treatment philosophy

We develop individualized treatment plans that go far beyond simply treating symptoms. Our goal: to address the root cause of your pain, improve your quality of life, and achieve lasting relief instead of short-term effects.

Frequently Asked Questions:

When should I see an orthopedist?

If you regularly experience pain in your back, joints, or muscles, if your mobility is restricted, or if you have problems after an accident, it's advisable to make an appointment with an orthopedist. Even if home remedies or exercise don't bring any improvement, a targeted orthopedic examination can help.

Do I need a referral or can I book an appointment directly?

Our practice operates as a private clinic without accreditation from the national health insurance system. This means that patients with statutory health insurance can pay for treatment themselves and do not require a referral. Privately insured patients can easily book an appointment by phone or online. Please bring your health insurance card and any existing medical records, X-rays, or MRI scans to your appointment.

What diagnostic procedures are performed for orthopedic complaints?

After a detailed consultation, a physical examination follows. Depending on the symptoms, we use modern imaging techniques such as ultrasound, X-ray, or MRI. A particular advantage: Our practice is connected to a radiology department, allowing many examinations to be carried out quickly and in a single appointment – a significant time saving compared to other facilities.

What is the difference between orthopedics and trauma surgery?

Orthopedic surgeons treat chronic and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system, such as back pain, osteoarthritis, or postural problems. Trauma surgeons, on the other hand, care for acute injuries following accidents—such as fractures or ligament tears. At our clinic, both specialties work together in an interdisciplinary manner to offer you comprehensive care.

What treatments does orthopedics offer – including those without surgery?

In most cases, symptoms can be treated without surgery. Conservative therapies include physiotherapy, injections, acupuncture, or shockwave therapy.

A special feature of our practice is our many years of experience in regenerative orthopedics. We consciously avoid using cortisone, preferring biological methods such as treatments with autologous blood plasma (PRP) or – in the future – stem cell therapy.

Especially in cases of osteoarthritis, fractures, or in older patients who do not want joint replacement, water-cooled radiofrequency therapy offers an effective alternative to surgery.

How long does orthopedic treatment take?

It depends heavily on the diagnosis. Some conditions improve quickly, while others require longer-term care. We will create an individualized treatment plan with you, including clear goals and a realistic timeframe – transparent and easy to understand.

Are chronic pain also treated?

Yes – especially in the case of chronic conditions, thorough diagnostics and targeted therapy are crucial.

Through close collaboration with radiologists and neurosurgeons in our practice, we can investigate and treat many causes using an interdisciplinary approach. This enables a rapid, precise diagnosis and targeted, cross-disciplinary therapy that sustainably improves your quality of life.

How much does orthopedic treatment cost – and what does health insurance cover?

As this is a private practice without accreditation from the national health insurance system, patients with statutory health insurance can only be treated as self-paying patients. The cost for an initial examination (including medical history and physical examination) is in the double-digit euro range and depends on the individual effort required, according to the German fee schedule for physicians (GOÄ).

We will of course inform you transparently about all costs in advance.

Can I get a second opinion?

Yes – a second opinion is often useful, especially for planned operations or unclear diagnoses.

Our interdisciplinary structure, including orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, and radiologists, allows us to better understand complex relationships within the musculoskeletal system. For example, shoulder pain can originate in the cervical spine, or hip pain can stem from the sacroiliac joint or the lumbar spine. A second opinion from us can help you make the right treatment decision.

How can I support my joints and musculoskeletal system in everyday life?

Regular exercise, targeted training, a healthy diet and ergonomic behavior are crucial.

Furthermore, we offer preventive measures in regenerative medicine – such as PRP (platelet-rich plasma), shockwave therapy, and, in the future, stem cell therapies. These methods stimulate healing processes at the cellular level and help to cope with the stresses of sports and everyday life in the long term – ideal for preventing joint wear and tear and for improving performance.
